Stadium Rant Podcasts Game Plan

Requirements:

• At least one host must be affiliated directly with SR

• Podcasters must have all of their own equipment/recording software

• All content goals will remain the same with your podcast counting as one submission

• All podcasters are required to record, edit, and send a 10-minute sample before being approved to host a podcast for Stadium Rant regardless of their current position

Show Format:

• Running Time: 30-45 minutes per episode.

• Frequency: Minimum One Episode Per Week (Counts towards your weekly SR content requirement)

• Advertisements: You must leave 2-3 pauses in the action for advertisements

• No cursing in the show. Explicitly no f-bombs or derogatory comments. Keep it professional.

• Talking points and topics can be determined by the host/co-host, but an effort must be made to loop in written content references.

• The show must embody what Stadium Rant is all about: opinionated and passionate content

Procedure:

• The podcast host will record and edit the audio for each episode

• The podcast host will export audio in mp3 format and send it to the Podcasting Lead/SR producer

• The podcast host will include a description for the podcast submission as well as time stamps for key moments in the show

• Once received, the Podcasting Lead or VP, Quality & Development will add advertisement segments and intro/outro if applicable.

• Podcasting Lead/VP, Quality & Development will then add the description provided by the podcast host & Team Site Image for posting.

• The final edit will be approved and scheduled for publishing through the “NFL on Stadium Rant Podcasts” Anchor account to be distributed to various platforms

• The Podcasting Lead will then provide links to Social Media Lead to post to SR's Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook Accounts.

• Once posted, the podcast host will promote the episode through their own personal channels and their team site channels.

• Each episode published will count as a piece of content that goes towards the contributor’s weekly content requirements

Show Schedule:

• Each team site podcast must release at least one episode per week during the season (September-January).

• Episodes can be released two per month during the offseason (February-August).

• All episodes must be submitted before Friday during the season, before Thursday if that team is scheduled to play TNF.

• Episodes must be released within seven days of Free Agency & the NFL Draft during the offseason.

Compensation/Podcast Sponsors:

• Stadium Rant will provide site-wide podcast sponsors with ads during each team site’s podcast

• Any podcast runner may negotiate their own show sponsors with all proceeds from said sponsorship going to that podcaster.

• Plays will not count towards the content creator’s article views, but the podcaster is encouraged to direct traffic to their own articles and their team sites.

Equipment/Software Suggestions:

• Noise-canceling headphones

• Mixer Board for multi-audio channel usage

• Microphones w/ windscreens

• Editing Software: 

  • Free: Garage Band (Mac) & Audacity (PC)

  • Subscription: Logic Pro ($200), Adobe Audition ($20/month), & Hindenburg Journalist ($95)

• Microphone Stands - Something stand-alone, avoid the ones that clip to a table or surface.
